What is a deacon?

  1. The word deacon or the greek word and its verb form is found in the Bible in 54 verses.

  2. The word means and is translated servant, serve, deacon, or minister

  3. It means to wait on, as in waiting on guests. A waiter or waitress

  4. It is speaking of supplying food, meeting needs

  5. Let’s do a study of the word and each explain how this relates to our ministry as deacons and pastors. Who is the person, how does this apply to me, how does it apply to how I serve in our church

  77. Before being considered a deacon he should display the characteristics of a servant

  78. Is he serving

  79. Is he helping

  80. Is he encouraging

  81. Is he willing to do all the menial tasks that need to be done

  82. Not looking to have power or prestige

  83. God’s church should be operated in a completely Biblical manner. We must be careful to all be serving each other and not using incorrect influence
