Such a Time as This

Esther 4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

1. We should all desire to be used of God in our church, to serve, which is probably different than what we think of when we say lead

2. We do not have to wait for a title to do the job

3. We want to be involved so we ask and keep looking until we find what we can do

4. We love God and want to serve Him and know that one of the best ways to do that is in the ministry of our church

5. Each of us are gifted by God for use in His ministry. We serve His people but we are really serving Him

6. What can you do

7. What do you enjoy doing

8. See a need and meet it

9. Don’t do things to be recognized or praised

10. Do your ministry so that God will be glorified

11. We should all involve people in our ministry so that many are doing the work and the ministry is growing Ephesians 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

12. Everyone will want to be part and we will help people get involved

13. We will not use people but serve with them

14. We will not take advantage of them so we do not have to do a job we dislike

15. We want to become more and more like Jesus in how we serve His people

16. We teach salvation so all is focused on the cross

17. We teach and model forgiveness

18. We give hope so that they can believe from the Scriptures that they can be made new again, start over, a new beginning

19. We help people see that there is light at the end of the tunnel

20. As servants we should keep dreaming and having a vision for what our church can do

21. Don’t be satisfied

22. Don’t rest

23. Time to dream of more that can be done for the cause and kingdom of God

24. We want to see Jesus glorified and His name is preached all over the earth

25. We want to reach the lost

26. We want to disciple new believers

27. We want to involve everyone in ministry

28. We want to challenge others to repeat the cycle with us

29. We want to live and minister in faith, trusting God to do great things

30. We have heard the stories of God doing great things in the past and in other places but we want our own stories

31. We will constantly be praying and stretching ourselves to see more ministry done

32. We will dream dreams and ask God for our church

33. We want to build a church that cares and hurts with people

34. We love needy people and want to help them though it costs time and money

35. We want to be on the look out for people to help instead of waiting for them to ask

36. We will prayerfully watch over and pray for our people and when we see a need we will try to meet it or get help doing so

37. We know that the church is in the people business

38. The message and the method is caught as much as it is taught

39. So we will be involved in people’s lives

40. We will not fall into the trap of pushing people or making them feel like they have to do ministry.

41. Remember control is not what we are doing or want

42. How do you know if you are control freak unaware

43. If you constantly have to intervene, guide, direct, give your opinion and believe others are incapable you might have a problem

44. If you like to make the decisions for everyone

45. If you are quick to see the flaws in the decisions

46. If you have to feel how important you are

47. We want Vision to always be a grace centered church and ministry

48. We want to be committed, prayerful, spiritual leaders

49. We do not want to use guilt, manipulation, or any other method of control

50. We do not want to use our position or influence for control

51. We are not seeking to get our way, we are servants and will yield to others
