Some things are worth dying for!

Genesis 26:9, 1-9
He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.
He makes His ministers a flame of fire, Am I ignitable? God deliver me from the dread asbestos of 'other things.' Saturate me with the oil of the Spirit that I may be aflame. But flame is transient, often short-lived. Canst thou bear this my soul—short life? In me there dwells the spirit of the Great Short-Lived, whose zeal for God's house consumed Him.
“I seek not a long life, but a full one”
There is more to life than what I selfishly want for myself
Isaac was more worried about his own comfort than that of his wife
He loved his wife and wanted to be with her as long as it was in his personal best interest
If given a choice between protecting her or himself, the decision was made
Wherever you are, be all there. Live to the hilt in every situation you believe to be the will of God.
Selfishness has caused men to lose even their own soul Luke 9:24-26, Matthew 16:25-26
We desire to hold on to what we know/want and lose what He has for us
Our selfishness is not in our best interest because we hold on to the temporary and lose the eternal II Corinthians 4:16-18
We trust ourselves rather than God Hebrews 11:6
Real living is found in dying to yourself and your goals Matthew 10:39
He comes offering life in abundance John 10:10
Real strength is found in weakness II Corinthians 12:10
I many no longer depend on pleasant impulses to bring me before the Lord. I must rather response to principles I know to be right, whether I feel them to be enjoyable or not.
Real love is shown by dying John 15:13
Jacob wasn’t whole until he was broken Genesis 32:30
God, I pray, light these idle sticks of my life and may I burn up for Thee. Consume my life, my God, for it is thine. I seek not a long life but a full one like Yours, Lord Jesus
Father, make of me a crisis man. Bring those I contact to decision. Let me not be a milepost on a single road; make me a fork, that men must turn one way or another on facing Christ in me.
