Learning from the virgin Mary

When the unexpected happens all we can do is accept it as from the Lord. That is what Mary did. In Luke 1:38 she makes it clear that God speaks and she accepts and obeys.

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Have I had that attitude in my life? Am I submissive and obedient or do I cry out, why me? I am often aggravated when God interrupts my life with His will!! I want to learn from Mary to say, yes, Lord, whatever you want!

Mary expressed gratitude that God would interrupt her life with a special will for her. She praised God, she rejoiced. She couldn't believe that God would use her. See Luke 1:46-48

And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. 48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: For, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

Mary acknowledges that God is at work in her life. She knows it is God doing it! She accepts, acknowledges, and appreciates God for what He is going. Luke 1:49

For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; And holy is his name.

I want to learn that God has a plan for my life. It may differ greatly from my own plan. I want to focus on God instead of me. I want to know that nothing happens in my life by accident or coincident. God is at work. I want to live for His glory and honor.

I want to publicly tell Him today that I want His will. That I will completely surrender my life to His plans. I want to be a simple servant not the decider as to what happens in my life.

I want to think on the following questions today for my personal life!

Will I let God use my life like He wants?

Will I consider it an honor for Him to take my time, talents, and treasures for His purpose?

Will I offer my life to Him to do anything that He wants today?

Will I lay my children, my future, my money, my plans on the altar before God today?
