Realize the excuses you make!
You do not believe that you are lazy-you have plenty of reasons to be the way you are! Proverbs 26:16 The sluggard is wiser in his own conceit than seven men that can render a reason.
Things are always harder for you than they are for others. Not your fault, just the way it is! Proverbs 15:19 The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.
You always choose small extra comforts for yourself Proverbs 6:10-11 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: 11 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man. Proverbs 19:15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger. You waste the opportunities you are given Proverbs 18:9 He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.
You are an aggravation to who ever you work for or with Proverbs 10:26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.
What are the results of your excuses?
Holds you down and will not let you go Proverbs 26:14 As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed.
Takes away your desires and ability to do something Proverbs19:15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.
It will leave you empty and poor Proverbs 20:13 Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
Your excuses and sleep are robbing you Proverbs 24:33 Yet a little sleep, a littleslumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: 34 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
You miss your opportunities Proverbs 10:5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
Overcoming your excuses!
Think about what you are doing Proverbs 6:6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
Get out of bed Proverbs 6:9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?
Learn to respect time Psalm 90:10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. 13 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply ourhearts unto wisdom. John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
Understand that you have no right to eat or enjoy the benefits of your ministry if you will not work II Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
