Differences Between the Rapture and Christ’s Second Coming

Verses to be considered John 14:1-3; 1 Corinthians 15:50-57; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.

1. The rapture is a meeting in the air I Thessalonians 4:16-17 while at the second coming Jesus will descend to the earth Zechariah 14:2-4, Acts 1:11

2. At the second coming every eye will see Jesus Revelation 1:7, Matthew 24:24-27, but at the rapture only the church will see Him. I Thessalonians 4:17, John 3:2

3. The rapture will happen faster than you can blink. I Corinthians 15:52. The second coming will happen much slower and more deliberate so that all realize what is happening. Matthew 24:27, Revelation 1:7, Psalm 2:2, Rev. 19:19. The second coming of Christ to the earth will be visible and obvious to all. No one will miss it.

4. Just after the rapture we have the judgment seat of Christ. II Timothy 4:1,8, I Peter. 1:7. At the second coming we see the destruction of the wicked that rise up against the Lord Jesus Revelation 19:17-19

5. At the rapture Jesus is coming for His bride John 14:3, I Thessalonians 4:17. At the second coming Jesus is coming to receive His kingdom Luke 19:22, Revelation 19-20
